Pre-10k Meet Up & Warm Up Session

The Cyrenians held their Pre-10k Meet Up and Warm Up Session with Storm-Leisure's trainer Norman McConnachie on Friday 6th May.  In an attempt to provide our runners with a good chance of completing the challenge of the Baker Hughes 10k we lined up Norman, a trainer to the many Storm Leisure boot camps and other activities throughout Aberdeen, to come along and help out.

Norman certainly put staff and fellow runners through their paces as he took us through;

  • A boot camp style warm up with,
  • Individual running time,
  • Group running
  • And probably the most anticipated part of the hour, the cool down!
  • Followed by tips to succeeding in the 10k

While most of the participants were complete novices to this style of exercise and to running a 10k; the session went off without a hitch and was enjoyed by everyone that took part.

Jenna Ingram, unfortunately unable to take part due to a recent injury was available to take photographs and comment on the session as an onlooker.

"It looked like a lot of hard work but everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. Norman's style was a bit different to what most of the runners were expecting but he definitely got the job done.  I can imagine quite a few aches and pains will be felt tomorrow but if that's anything like they will feel on the day it great they can learn how to push through it".

A big thank you to Norman for offering up his time voluntarily and supporting our runners.  And a big thank you to our runners for taking part in the session and the 10k.

Good Luck!
