The Christmas Appeal 2009

The Cyrenians' Annual Christmas Appeal is a very important fundraising appeal.  Around £20,000 is needed every year to provide extra services over the festive season.  In 2008 support was greatly received from Neighbours Dr Kennedy (Alan Fletcher) who helped launched the appeal.

There are 4 parts to our annual Christmas Appeal:

Gift Cards (View Cards)

We are making available a range of Gift Cards that can be used as alternative presents. An ideal way of solving your present problem and contributing to a good cause. View the cards and either make a donation on line and email info@aberdeen-cyrenians to get the cards or download and send back the Gift Card Form.

Christmas Opening

The Cyrenians appeal to local businesses to help us to ensure that Street Alternatives stay open over the holiday period.  Christmas and New Year can be an exceptionally lonely time if your are homeless and with the added bad weather to contend with keeping the day centre open could make a huge difference to our clients at this time of year.

Shoe Box Appeal (poster)

We appeal to individuals, families, staff teams, schools, etc to make up shoe boxes containing useful gift items for a homeless person.  Suggestions include hat, scarf, gloves, sweets, books.

Christmas Cards (poster)

We ask members of the public to send a Christmas card with a donation inside to the Cyrenians.  This money will be used to pay for Christmas lunches for those who would not otherwise enjoy such celebrations.  The cards are displayed in the drop-in centre and the residential projects.
