Jack - Case Study
"Jack had been spotted begging on Union Street for several days. Following discussion with him it was clear that he had lost touch with all services, feeling that they hadn't been able to assist him with his drug dependency and his housing needs. He was homeless, sleeping rough and begged for money to support his addiction and make ends meet. As a result of his lifestyle, Jack experienced many physical health problems and was reluctant to see his GP.
He was encouraged to move into one The Cyrenians residential projects. Here he had somewhere warm and safe to stay and was supported to start addressing his other needs.
Jack now uses medical services for his health and addiction. He is working with staff to look at more permanent accommodation and is keen to consider his future by looking at his employability needs."
