Slains School pupils sleep-out in aid of Aberdeen Cyrenians

Slains Sleep Out

Slains School pupils, teacher Conor Meehan and 'Buddy'

What a fantastic effort by the pupils at Slains Primary School. They raised a staggering £1556.91 in their fundraising event!

The pupils of Slains School in Aberdeenshire held a sleep-out event on Friday, 14th of May 2019 in aid of Aberdeen Cyrenians. For the past few months the children, with the help of their teacher Conor Meehan and Aberdeen Cyrenians’ Community and Events Fundraiser Vanessa Wilhelm, have been learning about homelessness. Ever since, they have been tirelessly working on organising their fundraising event.

The pupils held the Sleep-Out event in the school grounds in a bid to raise awareness and give some perspective of what it must be like to sleep rough.

To entertain young and old alike, the event also featured a BBQ, raffle, as well as a representative and mascot ‘Buddy’ from Aberdeen Cyrenians.
