Christmas and Beyond Appeal 2019

Help to ensure that people affected by homelessness in Aberdeen/shire can access help to meet their immediate needs and to get support to improve their long-term situations.

The festive period can be an extremely sad, lonely and distressing time for anyone who is experiencing homelessness and hardship.

That's because things change at Christmas.

Shops and services close, community groups take breaks, and we spend more time indoors, relishing some rare, uninterrupted time with family, friends and loved ones.

But here at Aberdeen Cyrenians things don't change.

We continue to open and operate for the two week festive break, giving our service users somewhere to shelter and enjoy hot meals, and continue to provide advice, support and advocacy for anyone who may find themselves in crisis.

Your donations allow us to help people affected by homelessness at Christmas and beyond.

12 Days of Christmas sing-a-long collection challenge

Grab a cardboard box, rally your friends, family and colleagues, and get ready for a good ol' Christmas sing song!

This Christmas, we're asking you to help people affected by homelessness by collecting these much-needed items for 12 days over the festive period:

  • A pen and a diary
  • Two packs of cards
  • Three lip balms
  • Four hats and scarves
  • Five tins of beans
  • Six pairs of boxers
  • Seven bars of chocolate
  • Eight tins of custard
  • Nine tubes of hand cream
  • Ten spray deodorants
  • Eleven packs of tissues
  • Twelve pots of noodles

Food, toiletries and clothing collections

Your donations of food, toiletries and clothing go directly to those who are most in need.

High priority items include:


  • Instant meals - like noodle pots and rice sachets
  • Tinned desserts like custard and rice pudding
  • Fresh meat, fruit and vegetables
  • Individually wrapped chocolate bars


  • Men's boxer shorts - must be new!
  • Small men's jeans, t-shirts and jumpers
  • Hats, scarves and gloves


  • Shaving foam and razors
  • Spray deodorant
  • Shower gel and shampoo

Shoebox appeal

You can ensure no one goes without a gift this Christmas.

Pack a parcel for a service user this winter, with gifts inside like:

  • Lip balm
