What is the Aberdeen SleepOut?
The Aberdeen SleepOut is an annual fundraising event organised by Aberdeen Cyrenians. Participants spend the night sleeping outdoors with just a sleeping bag and cardboard for comfort so they can experience some of the discomfort those sleeping rough feel on a daily basis. It does not aim to replicate a rough sleeping experience, but instead to raise awareness of homelessness and help give people an insight into what it might be like to sleep outdoors without heating, hot water and a comfy bed. The money raised from the event will help to tackle homelessness in Aberdeen/shire, ensuring that those affected by homelessness receive the help and support they need.
