Direct Access Service

Aberdeen Cyrenians' Direct Access Service provides information, advice and support to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Who we help

Anyone over 16 that is:

  • Homeless
  • At risk of homelessness
  • Having difficulties in accessing benefits
  • Vulnerable or at risk
  • Struggling financially

What we do

We can provide practical and emotional help depending on your needs including:

  • Advice on homelessness issues, housing and benefits
  • Assistance with formal appeals
  • Guidance on job applications
  • Advocacy and support
  • Referrals to other agencies
  • Referral to AC2U for food parcels and access to clothing and toiletries
  • Referral to Digital Connect for access to phones and the internet
  • Support to access furniture
  • Mailbox service for those with no fixed address

What we want to achieve

  • We will provide specialist advice as well as the necessary support to address identified needs
  • We will help those we work with to build skills to sustain their tenancy, manage debt and increase their employability
  • We will support those who come to us in crisis with multiple, varying and often complex needs
  • We will help those we work with to identify and access the services and supports that they may be entitled to.
